Justice in Numbers pocketbook

- Fewer young people in Prison: Just 255 young people aged 15-17 are in custody across England and Wales. Each one represents a life we can still redirect.

-  Employment after release is improving: 34.5% of people leaving prison now have a job within 6 months, up from 31.1% last year.

- Housing success at 3 months: An impressive 80.6% of those leaving custody are in settled accommodation after 3 months (up from 73.5%). Stable housing is the foundation for everything else.

- The female prison population stands at 3,566: A reminder that rehabilitation approaches need to be diverse and tailored.The challenges remain stark, self-harm incidents have risen to 899 per 1,000 prisoners despite the overall prison population decreasing. Mental health support remains critical.
